June Louise Stromwall, 98, of Elmhurst, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home on Aug. 13, 2026. June had lived in her Elmhurst home for 94 years, making it a place filled with cherished memories and a lifetime of love.
Born on May 30, 1928, June was very proud of her Swedish heritage and loved all things Swedish, especially her beloved krumkakka. As a young woman, she enjoyed golfing and fishing. She was a graduate of Elmhurst College.
June commuted by train from Elmhurst into Chicago, where she worked as a secretary and legal stenographer. She loved to travel and treasured the opportunity to visit out-of-state friends whenever possible, maintaining friendships and connections throughout her life.
Faith was an important part of June’s life. She was very active in her church and its Reading Room and regularly played the piano for church services. She also enjoyed music and was a season ticket holder of the Elmhurst Symphony for many years.
Known affectionately throughout her Elmhurst neighborhood as “Miss June,” she will be remembered as a caring and compassionate friend who willingly
gave her time to those in need. Her kindness, generosity, faith, and warm friendship touched many lives.
June leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, faith, and service that will be remembered by all who knew her.
